110º Issue 7 Release Party

Join VOICES and the 110º After School Magazine Project youth staff on Thursday, May 31, 2007 to celebrate the publication of Issue 7 of 110º: Tucson’s Youth Tell Tucson’s Stories. We will be recognizing the youth contributors to the magazine at the Pima Community College Center for the Arts Proscenium Theatre from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m.

VOICES Offers Youth Development Workshop April 27, 2007

How can we best design and implement programs that promote positive youth development? What role should national research play? How can we learn from local colleagues? How can the local and national interact? Should they? And how can all this help us improve as practitioners, fundraisers, funders, leaders, and advocates? Workshop instructors are Regina Kelly and Rachel K. Villarreal, Executive Director and Projects Director (respectively) at Tucson’s award-winning youth development agency, VOICES: Community Stories Past and Present.

Living Stories Workshop

VOICES seeks to fill a new position—Grants Coordinator. We’re seeking an enthusiastic self-starter who is very experienced in grants research, grants writing, and grants management. Position is P/T (15 to 25 hours per week). Please submit cover letter, resume, list of references, one grant sample, and a listing of recent grants (for Fiscal Years 2004-2005, 2005-2006, 2006-2007) you helped obtain (name of funder, name of grant, year grant written, name of organization/program, dollar amount secured). VOICES Wins 4 Major Awards

This past October and November 2006, VOICES was recognized with four major awards: the Pima County Outstanding Out-of-School-Time Award; the Arizona Newspapers Association’s Community Service top prize; the first annual “Model Organization” award and the first annual“Youth Voice Activist” award (for Executive Director, Regina Kelly) from the Every Voice in Action Foundation.
