I’m here at VOICES as a youth apprentice in Radio. I heard about this program through word of mouth. Now I’m a youth journalist. Honestly, it’s not where I want go in life but it sure ain’t a bad route to follow. I want to major in fashion and makeup art. I love the art of most music and taking pictures.

I had acquired an interest in journalism and I thought Voices was the perfect opportunity to get a head start. I have always had a passion for all things having to do with the media and I hope to make a living putting in my 2 cents into the whole mess. I hope to become a professional photographer or write for a music magazine. I play guitar in a band so there’s also the whole “Rockstar” thing but that’s a long shot for me. I also do an online radio show or “podcast” on the weekends with a couple of friends as a way to express my comedic genius. My goal in life is to make a living doing something I love, whether it be radio, photography or music.

Three friends and I decided to apply at VOICES simply because we were broke all the time and had heard good things from people who had participated in previous years. I applied for magazine, but was told I would be best suited for radio. I enjoy playing music and exploring the ridiculous desert of the east side. For now, I want to become a speech therapist, but that may change (as it has multiple times in the past).
