I’ve done quite a few comparisons of Guitar Tricks and other online guitar learning websites and courses. I’m sure I’ll list the other comparisons somewhere on this page.

Here’s what I’ve found:

You know that kid in grade school who develops before all the others, and simply dominates in everything to do with sports or competition? Well that’s sort of what Guitar Tricks has done in regards to online guitar lessons.

In this Jamorama and Guitar Tricks comparison it’s no different. Guitar Tricks is the clear winner.

Guitar Tricks: The Guitar Learning Membership on Steroids

Why steroids?

Because it's so big, and because when compared to other programs, it has a clear advantage.

But Guitar Tricks didn't do anything illegal or unprofessional to get where it's at. So maybe steroids isn't the best choice of words.

Guitar Tricks is better than most of the other programs because it's bigger and better in almost all the important categories.

Let's check out a few:

Content

Guitar Tricks is massive.

No other guitar resource can compare with the size.

Song List at Guitar Tricks

They have thousands of hours of online video lessons you get access to. They have a growing list of over 600 song lessons you can learn. Last time I checked, Jamorama had 1 song lesson.

Jamorama has 10 courses, made up of beginner and advanced lessons.

Guitar Tricks has more than 10 courses designed for specific genres alone, like Country and Rock:

Guitar Tricks is constantly updated as well.

They have new lessons added all the time.

It's clear that Jamorama, and most of the other guitar programs can't compete with the size of Guitar Tricks.

Size matters in this case because everyone's preferences are different. Their beginner section is huge, and so well mapped out. They have a step by step system that is ideal for beginner guitar players.

But for non beginners, their genre specific lessons are excellent as well.

So the large amount of content will really meet the needs of almost any kind of guitar player.

Lesson Quality

Jamorama has one guitar teacher, while Guitar Tricks has many.

This allows for more lesson variations, and more material.

Jamorama's main instructor is great, but he's competing with a long list of awesome guitar instructors from all over the world.

The way Guitar Tricks is set up, you can leverage off the instruction from all these teachers for a small monthly fee. It's really pretty awesome.

Actually video quality is pretty even. Both offer high definition video lessons.

Guitar Tricks wins in this category simply because it offers way more types of lessons. You can learn songs and specific genres of guitar.

Consumer Reviews

I personally use Guitar Tricks, so you might feel my recommendation is biased. But I have used Jamorama, JamPlay and other programs out there, so I know how they all compare.

But don't take my word for it. Check out these customer reviews from Trust Pilot. It's another sign that we have a clear winner:

Free Trials and Pricing

The only category that Jamorama wins is in the price category, because it's cheaper.

The standard membership for Guitar Tricks is $19.95 per month, while Jamorama's is $9.95 per month.

You can save quite a bit if you buy a full year upfront from Guitar Tricks, however it's clearly more expensive.

But it's not shocking. It's clearly a better course, and well worth the extra money in my opinion.

What's great is that I don't really need to convince you though.

All you need to do is try it out for free, and see if it's worth it to you.

Both Jamorama and Guitar Tricks have free trials.

Just try them both out, and see which one you like best.
